438 Cards is named after a number that means everything to its founder, Tom — 438, the house he grew up in, where a childhood love of sports cards first took hold. Tom runs it today from near Southampton, on England's south coast, hand-picking football and American football singles for collectors across the UK and beyond.

For Tom, it started with shootout cards and Panini sticker albums. Saturday mornings meant a trip to the corner shop for a fresh handful of packs, then the slow, brilliant grind of trying to fill every last spot in the album. The rest happened in the school playground — flicking through everyone's piles, calling out “got, got, need” until he'd traded his way to the ones he was missing.

That's where the obsession started, and it never really left. 438 Cards is what happens when that same kid grows up and decides to build the hobby he always wished existed.

Today 438 Cards is a UK sports card seller — hand-picked football and American football singles, from rising stars to all-time greats, plus the occasional sealed product. Every card is chosen by Tom himself, so what you see is stock a collector would actually want in their own collection.
